Soul: The Night We Remembered Ourselves

Soul to Sol Presented by Holistically Healed3

Some gatherings are planned.

Others are felt.

When we first dreamed of Soul to Sol, we knew we didn't want to create just another women's retreat. There are plenty of weekends filled with beautiful décor, curated gift bags, and Instagram-worthy moments. While those details certainly have their place, they were never meant to be the heart of this experience.

The heart was always the women.

The women who arrived carrying stories no one else could see.

The woman who had spent years putting everyone else first.

The woman quietly navigating grief.

The one rebuilding after heartbreak.

The one celebrating a new chapter.

The one who simply needed permission to pause.

Soul was created for all of them.

For one evening, titles didn't matter. No one cared what you did for a living. No one asked how many followers you had. No one expected perfection. Instead, we gathered exactly as we were.

We opened the evening with thoughtfully curated welcome gifts from Christina of Vibrational Shiftings, each one a reminder that every woman walking through our doors mattered long before she ever introduced herself. Those gifts weren't simply beautiful keepsakes; they were an invitation to receive.

Something many women rarely allow themselves to do.

As the evening continued, Dulce Ruby of Despierta guided us through a meditative tea ceremony. In a world that constantly rewards busyness, she offered something far more valuable: stillness.

The room became quiet. Not awkwardly quiet. Comfortably quiet. Deep and full.

The kind of silence where you can finally hear your own thoughts again.

With every sip, the outside world became a little smaller.

To-do lists faded.

For a brief moment, every woman was exactly where she needed to be.

Present.

It is remarkable how healing can begin, not through grand gestures, but through something as simple as permission to slow down.

That feeling of presence carried beautifully into an intentional connection exercise led by Nicole Warren. Many women arrived as strangers. Some came alone, wondering if they would fit in or whether they had made the right decision.

By the end of the exercise, something had shifted. Because genuine connection has never required years of friendship. It simply requires someone willing to see you.

Every story shared became a bridge.

Every vulnerable moment gave another woman permission to say, "Me too." And in those simple words, strangers slowly became sisters.

As sunset painted the Phoenix sky, our presenting sponsor, Sandra Fuentes of Holistically Healed, invited everyone into what would become one of the weekend's most unforgettable experiences: a floating sound bath.

Each woman climbed onto her float, looked up at the evening sky, and surrendered. The water gently held what so many of us spend our days trying to carry alone. There was no expectation. No fixing. Only breathing. Just receiving.

It reminded us of something we often forget, that healing doesn't always require doing more. Sometimes healing asks us to do less.

To trust, soften, and in this case float.

If the evening had ended there, it would have already been enough.

But healing has many expressions. Sometimes it looks like stillness. Sometimes it looks like tears.

And sometimes...

it looks like Bollywood dancing and karaoke! Because joy is healing, too.

Watching women laugh until they cried, cheer one another on, dance without worrying how they looked, and sing songs at the top of their lungs reminded us that freedom isn't always found in quiet moments.

Sometimes freedom sounds like laughter echoing through the night.

That contrast became one of the most beautiful lessons of Soul.

We don't have to choose between reflection and celebration. Between vulnerability and joy or between peace and playfulness. We are allowed to hold all of it.

Perhaps that is what made the evening so meaningful.

Every activity, every conversation, every pause was carefully woven together with one purpose: To remind women who they were before the world asked them to be everything for everyone else. That version of ourselves never disappears.

She simply gets buried beneath responsibilities, expectations, deadlines, motherhood, careers, caregiving, and countless roles we faithfully fulfill every day.

Soul wasn't about becoming someone new. It was about remembering someone familiar: Ourselves.

As the evening came to a close, journals opened. Pens moved quietly across paper. Some women wrote pages. Others simply sat in silence. There were no right words, only honest ones.

Not that anyone left with all the answers. But everyone left asking better questions.

Who am I when no one needs anything from me? What brings me peace? When do I feel most alive? What part of myself have I been missing?

Soul was never intended to change anyone overnight. Transformation rarely happens that way. Instead, we hoped to plant seeds, of courage, friendship, rest and belonging.

Because when women are given a safe space to be fully seen, something extraordinary happens. They begin to see themselves differently.

Looking back, the candles have long been extinguished, the music has faded, and the gift bags have found new homes. But what remains is something far more lasting.

A room full of women who now know they are not walking through life alone and perhaps that's what Soul was always meant to be.

Not an evening. Not an itinerary. Not even a retreat, but a gentle reminder that healing begins the moment we believe we are worthy of being seen, accepted, and loved exactly as we are.

And that, above all else, is the kind of space Mamacitas will continue striving to create.

One heart at a time.

At Mamacitas, we are committed to continuing these collaborations that empower women and expand the resources available to our community. When organizations like AVANCE and partners like the Hernandez Pippins Mortgage Team come together with our Mamacitas, the result is something truly special: a space where knowledge, nourishment, and friendship meet.

Because when women invest in themselves—and in each other—the ripple effect reaches far beyond the room.
